Aviation Academy of America Policies


Aviation Academy of America (referred to as AAA); the student is the participant in a structured aviation training program conducted by the school which strictly follows all FAA rules and regulations. The training syllabus and FAA regulations are available from the school to the student for studying and review use.

Minimum of hours

The flight hours for the tuition charges above are the minimum flight hours course requirements. The student fully understands that he/she may require additional training and more flight hours than the ones outlined above in order to comply with FAA requirements, therefore incurring in additional costs.


AAA agrees to provide the student with access to the facilities, resources and qualified instructors to complete the course to comply with FAA regulations.

Additional Fees

The student is responsible for written test fees as well as examiner checkride fees. Written test fee is $165.00 per test. Examiner fees variate per check airman. Students need to expect additional expenses for charts, maps, etc.


All students enrolling in the professional pilot course must be at least 18 years of age. He/she must be able to read, write and understand English. These skills must meet or exceed the FAA and ICAO requirements. The ICAO minimum English level is 4. Students must obtain a First-Class Medical Certificate and be able to maintain a Second-Class Medical Certificate during training.


If there are any changes of status such as mailing address, phone number or emergency contact info, the student is required to notify the business manager in writing.

Preparedness Policy

All students must arrive well-prepared each lesson. This means that all students need to arrive with all assignments completed, any homework completed, and ready for scheduled flights.

Lesson No-Show/Late Cancellation Policy

AlAAA will impose a $250 charge per lesson for which the student is a no-show or cancels with insufficient advance notice, arrives late, or arrive unprepared. AAA considers adequate advance notice to be at least 24 hours before the lesson’s scheduled start time. Cross-country flight scheduled by the AAA Flight Operations require the same notice. If the student is scheduled for a simulator lesson or flight, and weather or maintenance become a factor, the student is still expected to arrive on-time for training. The instructor will decide the appropriate course of action which may include substituting the planned lesson with another suitable to the conditions.

Funding and Payments

Students may request additional funds from Wells Fargo or other lending source. However, only additional funding over the quoted program price will be disbursed directly to the student. Students will need to submit a Request for Additional Funding form. Additional funds will be issued 5 business days from disbursement to AAA. Self-pay students must place a $1500 deposit before flight training begins and ensure that their account balance is always maintained at $500 or schedule flights will be canceled until account is made current..

Cancelation of Training and Refund Policy

Once a student has begun their flight training program and a chooses to discontinue their training program, the student will need to submit a Request for Refund document. Once initiated, the student will then meet with the Chief Pilot and Business Manager to discuss the reasons for withdrawal. Refunds will be calculated in the following manner: Administrative Fees to be charged:

• Before first license/rating completed: $2500
• If first license/rating completed: $3000
• If second license/rating completed: $3500
• If third license/rating completed: $4000

All flight training and instructor hours will be re-calculated at current retail rates (not discounted packages rates) and charged to account. Remaining account balance will then be refunded to funding source (Check, credit card, loan provider, etc.) This process may take up to 90 days to complete.


AAA may terminate training for reasons such as misconduct, unsatisfactory progress, attendance, violations of FAA regulations and safety In the event that the student violates any FAA regulation, flight instructor direction, or AAA policy while on the premises or using any AAA-supplied equipment. AAA, in its sole discretion, may terminate the student’s flight training immediately with no refund. Such termination of the flight training at AAA’s sole discretion shall also include acts of gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any act, acts, or omission, whether intentional or not, that causes property damage, injury, or death, or creates the possibility thereof.

Aviation Academy of America Aircraft Usage Agreement

The student pilot is responsible for the safe and conscientious operation of the aircraft until it is returned and securely tied down at Aviation Academy of America facilities. The following company aircraft rental policies and conditions apply to each flight; Students agree to the following:

Not to use the aircraft for flight instruction to any individual, unless I am an authorized Aviation Academy of America Instructor on an approved dual training flight.


To land only at FAA designated airports that are safe and suitable under the prevailing conditions.


Not to authorize or allow any other person except my instructor to operate or handle the aircraft.


To inform Aviation Academy of America if I am unable to return the aircraft at the agreed time for any reason.


To report all accidents, major or minor to Aviation Academy of America at once, together with the names and addresses of witnesses and involved parties. In the event of an accident I will not permit the aircraft to be moved unless expressly authorized by Aviation Academy of America management team or local, state, or federal authorities and will do all that I can to protect the aircraft and its equipment from further loss.


To accept the Hobbs Meter readings for billing purposes. If no Hobbs Meter is installed, the tachometer will be used and the flight time will be computed at 1.2 times the tach time. Should the starting time be recorded incorrectly, I must bring this to the attention of the flight operations department before starting the flight.


To obtain weather reports and forecasts, to file FAA flight plans for all cross-country flights, and to use the aircraft only for this purpose and over the route specified.


Should fuel need to be purchase for the aircraft, I will have the charges placed on the aircrafts AV card. I understand all purchases must be documented with an original receipt at the time the aircraft is returned.


To see that the aircraft is securely tied down in a proper area, master and ignition switches off, control locks installed, and doors closed.


To remain current in each aircraft I fly in accordance with the FAR’s and to have a recheck if I have not flown an Aviation Academy of America aircraft within the preceding 30 days.


To accept and abide by the current no show policy of Aviation Academy of America. If I am unable to fly an aircraft as scheduled, I will notify Aviation Academy of America as soon as possible. If I am more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled flight and the flight cannot be reasonably completed in the remaining time scheduled, then I agree to have the flight recorded as a “No Show” and pay a no show fee of $250.00


Not to perform or authorize any repairs or adjustments, nor make any purchases in relation to the aircraft without authorization from Aviation Academy of America General Manager or Chief pilot.


To accept liability for any damage done to the aircraft while in my possession.


Not to smoke or eat in the aircraft. Students may drink water in the aircraft, but no other beverages are allowed.


To provide all necessary personal identification as requested by the flight desk including, but not limited to: driver’s license, passport, pilots license, medical and applicable visas.


To be subject to a background check and associated fees as required by the FAA


To maintain aircraft security and cleanliness by following the checklist (i.e.: electrical switches, fuel selector value, control-lock, proper tie-down, locking all doors and installing pitot tube cover and removing all trash from the flight deck after each flight.) If found in violation of Aviation Academy of America security and cleanliness policy I agree to pay a $100.00 clean up fee.

Aviation Academy of America Code of Conduct

Aviation Academy of America is committed to maintaining integrity and professional conduct at all times. All students have an obligation to maintain ethical conduct and professional standards while also acting when violations of AAA official policies occur. The following actions are considered unethical and unprofessional and will not be tolerated.


Cheating in any way or form including giving or receiving help from unauthorized persons or materials during examinations, the unauthorized communication of exam questions prior to, during, or following administration of the examination, help on exams, fraud or deceit which include knowingly providing false or misleading information or failing to provide appropriate information when requested.


Plagiarism includes presenting as one’s own ideas the words, or work of another; providing use of a source for completing academic assignments without properly acknowledging the source.


Unauthorized use or tampering with academic records or transcripts.


Altering, forging, destroying, falsifying or unauthorized use of an Academy document, record, or ID. This includes the use of the academy’s logo, stationery, business cards, or any other documents that the academy utilizes.


Intentional violation of any FAA regulations.


If a fully-funded student requests a cash disbursement from their student loan funds and uses those funds to pay for flight training at another flight school, the student will be immediately dismissed from the program, and the student’s account will be refunded per the Refund Policy.

Students are also expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Students who exhibit adverse acts of conduct may be dismissed by the Academy. Undesirable conduct is defined as any conduct which compromises or poses a risk of threat or danger to the safety, health or property of the Academy, including but not restricted to other students, staff, the student himself/herself, or conduct which is disruptive of the educational process, or any other just cause.
